CRANE OPERATOR & TECHNICIAN (Crawler, Mobile or Tower Crane)
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Crane Operator or Crane Technician is required.
- Experience with crawler, mobile, or tower cranes is preferred/relevant to the position.
- Must provide proof of employment for the required experience.
- For local experience: Certificate of Employment (COE) and SSS contribution record showing the company name.
- For overseas experience: Certificate of Employment (COE).
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
- Able to obtain a Police Clearance from the country where the applicant has resided for at least five years.
- Able to provide and pass the required IELTS, PTE, or TOEFL examination once selected.
- Strong knowledge of crane operation, lifting procedures, and workplace safety.
- Able to read and follow crane load charts, operating instructions, lifting plans, and site procedures.
- Good understanding of safe load handling, load capacity, stability, and lifting practices.
- For technician roles, knowledge of crane mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Physically fit and capable of working in construction and industrial environments.
- Strong awareness of workplace hazards and safety requirements.
- Able to communicate and coordinate effectively with supervisors, riggers, signalers, and other site personnel.
- Reliable, responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious.
- Able to work independently and as part of a professional construction or technical team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate crawler, mobile, or tower cranes safely and efficiently according to project requirements.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes, lifting equipment, controls, safety devices, and related components.
- Check crane condition and identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or structural issues before operation.
- Safely lift, move, position, and lower construction materials, equipment, and other loads.
- Follow approved lifting plans, load charts, crane operating procedures, and site instructions.
- Ensure loads are properly secured, balanced, and within the crane’s rated capacity.
- Coordinate with banksmen, riggers, signalers, site supervisors, and other workers during lifting operations.
- Follow established hand signals, radio communication, and lifting instructions.
- Position cranes appropriately and ensure stable operating conditions before lifting.
- Monitor crane performance during operations and respond appropriately to abnormal conditions.
- Perform routine checks, cleaning, lubrication, and basic operator-level maintenance when required.
- For technician duties, inspect, diagnose, service, repair, and maintain crane mechanical and related systems.
- Assist in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and control system faults.
- Identify worn, damaged, or defective crane components and report them for repair or replacement.
- Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance and servicing activities.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Ensure lifting equipment and accessories are properly stored and maintained.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, technical manuals, and maintenance procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working area around crane operations.
- Observe strict workplace health and safety requirements and properly use required PPE.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, incidents, or near misses to supervisors.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site orientations as required.
- Coordinate with project personnel to ensure lifting activities are completed safely and efficiently.
- Perform other crane operation, maintenance, and technical duties assigned by management.
