Job Location: Tonga
Mitac Co. Ltd. – Kitano is seeking an experienced Japanese Cuisine Cook to prepare authentic Japanese dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and kitchen safety.
The successful candidate should have 3–5 years of experience in Japanese cuisine and be capable of preparing a variety of traditional Japanese dishes. Applicants must also be prepared to submit a 1-month meal plan featuring Japanese cuisine as part of the application requirements.
COOK (Japanese Cuisine)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Japanese Cuisine Cook.
- Proven ability to prepare authentic Japanese cuisine.
- Experience preparing dishes such as:
- Sushi
- Sashimi
- Ramen
- Tempura
- Yakitori
- Other traditional Japanese dishes
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques and food preparation.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Physically fit and capable of working extended periods in a kitchen.
- Disciplined, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to follow recipes, kitchen procedures, and food safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Japanese dishes according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Prepare a variety of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, yakitori, and other traditional dishes.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, portioning, marinating, and seasoning as required.
- Ensure proper preparation and presentation of Japanese dishes.
- Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and appearance.
- Plan and organize daily food preparation according to kitchen requirements.
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and stock rotation.
- Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients.
- Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Keep kitchen workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment clean and sanitized.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth food preparation and service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
- Help minimize food waste and maintain proper portion control.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and kitchen management.
- Perform other duties related to Japanese cuisine preparation as assigned.
