COMMISSIONING SUPERVISOR

Qualifications:

• Must have relevant experience in HVAC commissioning, testing and balancing, or field technical supervision.
• Must have at least 5 years of relevant experience, as specified in the vacancy.
• Must possess strong knowledge of mechanical services systems, including ventilation, chilled-water systems, and hot-water systems.
• Must understand commissioning principles, test instrumentation, and relevant industry standards.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and control logic.
• Must demonstrate strong leadership, planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical reports.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and documentation tools.
• Must hold a valid full UK or EU driver’s licence, as stated in the vacancy, for travel between project locations. Applicants should confirm the licence eligibility and recognition requirements for the actual work location.
• Certification in commissioning best practices, such as CxA or TAB certification, mechanical services, or relevant industry training, is an advantage or may be required.
• Experience in cleanroom and clinical HVAC commissioning is an advantage.
• Health and safety qualifications, such as CSCS, Safe Pass, or relevant site induction certifications, are advantageous, subject to project requirements.
• A qualification in building services, mechanical engineering, or an equivalent field is preferred.
• Must have good communication and teamwork skills and be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate HVAC commissioning activities, including air and hydronic testing and balancing, functional testing, and performance verification.
• Lead onsite commissioning teams, assign tasks, monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and maintain consistent work quality.
• Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures in accordance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable industry guidance, including CIBSE, BSRIA, and ASHRAE.
• Review and interpret HVAC drawings, technical specifications, and control sequences to verify design compliance and identify commissioning requirements.
• Monitor system performance, document defects and deficiencies, and coordinate corrective actions with contractors.
• Report commissioning progress, technical issues, and outstanding work to project management.
• Prepare and review commissioning checklists, logs, reports, test sheets, and certification records.
• Ensure commissioning documentation meets required quality standards and is completed on schedule.
• Maintain onsite safety compliance and ensure activities follow company policies and applicable statutory safety procedures.
• Coordinate with clients, design engineers, contractors, and internal teams to align commissioning activities and prepare systems for handover.
• Support commissioning management through resource planning, work sequencing, scheduling, and project coordination meetings.
• Perform assigned duties on time, communicate progress, and promote teamwork and professional standards.
