COMMISSIONING MANAGER

Qualifications:

• Must have relevant experience in commissioning management or a comparable senior technical position.
• Typically, at least 7 years of experience in HVAC commissioning, testing and balancing, and mechanical systems.
• Must have proven experience in senior technical leadership or management, including supervising multiple teams.
• Must have a strong understanding of HVAC design intent, control systems, functional performance testing, and commissioning best practices.
• Must be able to interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and control sequences.
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Must be proficient in commissioning documentation, test procedures, technical reporting, and handover protocols.
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence and be willing to travel to project sites.
• Professional certifications in commissioning, mechanical services, or project management are advantageous, such as CxA, Certified HVAC Technician, or PMP.
• Experience in cleanroom and critical-environment commissioning is an advantage.
• Health and safety accreditation, such as Safe Pass or Site Safety Management certification, is an advantage, subject to applicable project requirements.
• Must be capable of managing budgets, resource allocation, and scheduling across multiple projects.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in building services, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Must be willing to work in both office and field environments and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead commissioning strategies for ongoing and future HVAC projects in line with client requirements and performance specifications.
• Plan commissioning activities, establish priorities, and allocate personnel and resources across multiple project sites.
• Oversee commissioning schedules and sequencing to ensure milestones align with the overall project programme.
• Review and approve commissioning plans, procedures, and technical documentation before implementation.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with applicable industry standards, including CIBSE, BSRIA, and ASHRAE guidance, as well as project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership on HVAC testing, testing and balancing, functional performance testing, system integration, and control logic.
• Monitor commissioning work across projects to maintain consistency, accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop commissioning supervisors, technicians, and field personnel.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and performance feedback, and establish team objectives in line with departmental standards.
• Promote a culture of safety, technical excellence, accountability, and professionalism.
• Serve as the primary client contact for commissioning activities and respond to technical and project-related concerns.
• Attend coordination meetings with clients, design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Represent the company in technical discussions, commissioning strategy meetings, and problem-resolution sessions.
• Oversee the preparation of commissioning reports, test certificates, performance verification records, and project handover documentation.
• Ensure all commissioning documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted on schedule.
• Enforce company safety policies, site safety requirements, and established industry practices.
• Ensure the safe use of commissioning tools, testing equipment, and chemical treatment products used in flushing and water treatment activities.
• Manage project budgets, staffing resources, and schedules across multiple commissioning assignments.
• Perform assigned duties, deliver results on time, follow company policies, and report progress to relevant stakeholders.
