Southern City Bathroom Renovations is seeking skilled and experienced Ceramic Wall and Floor Tilers to join its renovation and construction team in Australia. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing ceramic, porcelain, marble, stone, and other wall and floor tiles. Duties include surface preparation, accurate measurement and layout, tile cutting and shaping, adhesive application, grouting, and finishing work while following project specifications and Australian workplace requirements.

CERAMIC WALL AND FLOOR TILER

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Must be a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Others or similar fields.
• Proven professional experience in ceramic wall and floor tiling.
• Skilled in installing ceramic, porcelain, marble, stone, and other tile materials.
• Good knowledge of tile adhesives, grout, and basic tiling tools.
• Ability to read and follow plans, drawings, specifications, and tile layouts.
• Skilled in accurate measurement, marking, cutting, shaping, and installation of tiles.
• Knowledge of surface preparation, leveling, adhesive application, grouting, and finishing techniques.
• Able to work accurately around fixtures, corners, edges, drains, and other difficult areas.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on tiling work, including standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working in different positions.
• Able to safely use tile cutters, grinders, drills, and other basic tiling equipment.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and proper handling of construction materials and chemicals.
• Willing to work in Australia and comply with Australian workplace requirements.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to work independently or as part of a renovation team.

Responsibilities:

• Install ceramic, porcelain, marble, stone, and other types of wall and floor tiles according to project requirements.
• Remove existing or damaged tiles and prepare surfaces for new tile installation when required.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, layouts, specifications, and work instructions.
• Inspect surfaces and identify areas requiring repair, leveling, cleaning, or additional preparation before tiling.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, smoothing, and ensuring they are suitable for tile installation.
• Select and apply appropriate tile adhesives, bonding agents, and other installation materials.
• Measure and mark walls and floors accurately to establish proper tile layouts and alignment.
• Plan tile patterns, starting points, spacing, borders, corners, and finishing details.
• Cut and shape tiles accurately according to measurements, angles, curves, and layout requirements.
• Use appropriate tile-cutting tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Install tiles with consistent spacing, alignment, level, and appropriate adhesive coverage.
• Ensure tiles are properly positioned and securely bonded to prepared surfaces.
• Install tiles around corners, edges, fixtures, fittings, drains, and other obstacles.
• Apply grout between tiles and ensure joints are properly filled and finished.
• Seal tile joints and surfaces where required by project specifications.
• Check completed tile work for alignment, level, spacing, surface appearance, and overall quality.
• Correct uneven, damaged, misaligned, or improperly installed tiles as necessary.
• Perform finishing and cleaning work to ensure tiled surfaces are neat and ready for handover.
• Handle tiles, adhesives, grout, tools, and construction materials safely and carefully.
• Maintain tiling tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from unnecessary materials and construction debris.
• Minimize material waste through accurate measurements, cutting, and proper handling of tiles.
• Coordinate with builders, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other tradespeople during renovation projects.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report surface defects, material shortages, damaged tiles, or other project issues to supervisors.
• Complete assigned tiling work according to project schedules, quality standards, and specifications.
• Perform other tiling and renovation-related duties as assigned by the employer.
