Minerva Navis S.R.L. is seeking qualified and experienced TIG Welders to join its team in Romania. The successful candidates will perform precision welding using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal materials. Candidates should have solid experience in welding, material preparation, and joint preparation, preferably gained in shipbuilding, ship repair, piping, or metal fabrication environments.

TIG WELDER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Must be at least a high school graduate.
• Proven experience and skills in TIG welding.
• Experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, piping, or metal fabrication is preferred.
• Ability to weld stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metal materials.
• Skilled in setting up and operating TIG welding equipment.
• Knowledge of proper material, joint, and surface preparation before welding.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, welding symbols, measurements, and work instructions.
• Good understanding of welding safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, accurate, and high-quality welds.
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on welding work in a professional industrial environment.
• Reliable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-quality welding using the TIG welding process according to technical specifications and work instructions.
• Set up, adjust, and safely operate TIG welding machines and related equipment.
• Weld stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other approved metal materials.
• Prepare, clean, and inspect materials and welding joints before welding.
• Measure, mark, cut, and prepare metal components as required for welding.
• Clean welding surfaces to remove oil, rust, dirt, oxidation, and other contaminants.
• Select appropriate welding parameters, electrodes, shielding gases, and consumables for the material and application.
• Perform tack welding and final welding while maintaining proper alignment and joint quality.
• Read and follow technical drawings, welding symbols, measurements, and work instructions.
• Maintain proper welding technique and heat control to minimize distortion and defects.
• Inspect completed welds for cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and other visible defects.
• Perform grinding, cleaning, and finishing of welded joints when required.
• Make necessary adjustments or repairs to defective welds according to instructions.
• Use welding tools, measuring instruments, grinders, clamps, and other workshop equipment safely.
• Conduct basic checks and routine care of TIG welding equipment and accessories.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe welding workstation.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, fire prevention measures, and proper handling of welding gases.
• Coordinate with welders, fitters, fabricators, supervisors, and other production personnel to complete assigned work.
• Follow production schedules and complete welding tasks within required deadlines.
• Perform other welding and metal fabrication duties assigned by the supervisor.
