CARPENTRY SUPERVISOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of proven experience as a Carpenter, Builder, or Carpentry Supervisor in construction, maintenance, or hospitality projects.
• Proven experience leading and supervising a team of carpenters or maintenance personnel.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood, drywall, and other construction materials.
• Proficient in constructing and repairing walls, floors, roofs, door frames, ceilings, and other wooden structures.
• Experience installing doors, windows, cabinets, hardware, furniture, and related fixtures.
• Proficient in the safe operation and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate maintenance requests and assign work to multiple trades to ensure timely completion.
• Experience working in a resort, hotel, or hospitality maintenance environment is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple maintenance projects.
• Willing to work in Vanuatu under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the carpentry team, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Assign tasks, monitor work performance, and provide guidance and technical support to carpenters and maintenance personnel.
• Construct, install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, including walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, door frames, partitions, and other building components.
• Install and repair doors, windows, cabinets, countertops, furniture, hardware, and related fixtures.
• Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, drywall, and other construction materials according to project specifications.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and building requirements.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and assign repair work to the appropriate trades, including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other maintenance personnel.
• Plan preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment and facility downtime.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory of carpentry materials, tools, and supplies, and recommend procurement when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental policies, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Prepare maintenance reports, work schedules, material requests, and job completion records.
• Assist with renovation, refurbishment, and construction projects throughout the resort.
• Perform other maintenance and supervisory duties assigned by management.
