Stellar Recruitment LP is seeking an experienced Pipe Welder for an overseas employment opportunity in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality pipe welding work while following approved specifications, safety procedures, and industry standards. Applicants should have substantial overseas experience and be able to clearly demonstrate their technical skills and previous welding work.
PIPE WELDER
Qualifications:
- Filipino male, preferably not more than 48 years old.
- At least 3–5 years of overseas work experience in a relevant pipe welding position.
- Must be able to clearly explain and demonstrate previous work experience and technical skills.
- Must have strong practical knowledge of pipe welding, pipe preparation, fit-up, alignment, and welding procedures.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications.
- Skilled in the safe and proper use of welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, and other welding equipment.
- Must have good attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing quality welds.
- Resume must include specific details of duties, responsibilities, equipment, tools, and scope of work performed.
- Must have verifiable employment experience and credible references.
- Must be willing to take IELTS or PTE as required.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Physically fit and capable of performing welding duties in industrial or construction environments.
- Able to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and willing to comply with company and site requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform pipe welding according to approved drawings, specifications, welding procedures, and project requirements.
- Read and interpret welding symbols, technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Prepare pipes and materials for welding, including measuring, cutting, fitting, beveling, and cleaning.
- Perform accurate pipe fit-up and alignment before welding.
- Carry out welding using appropriate welding processes and techniques based on project requirements.
- Inspect welds and completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with required standards.
- Identify welding defects and perform necessary repairs or corrective work.
- Operate welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders, and other welding tools safely and correctly.
- Select and properly use appropriate welding consumables and equipment.
- Perform tack welding and ensure proper alignment and positioning of pipe sections.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to welding work when required.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, engineers, and other site personnel.
- Complete assigned welding work efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Follow site rules, company policies, welding procedures, and quality-control requirements.
- Report technical issues, material problems, equipment faults, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
