Harbour Lights is hiring Carpenters for deployment to Barbados. The role involves carpentry construction, installation, repair, and maintenance of wooden structures, with additional basic skills in masonry, plumbing, and electrical work for general building maintenance tasks.

Carpenter

Qualifications:

• Vocational Diploma or Short Course Certificate in Carpentry or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Skilled in measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and construction materials.
• Ability to install doors, windows, cabinets, frameworks, flooring, and roofing systems.
• Basic knowledge of masonry works such as block laying, plastering, and concrete repair.
• Basic plumbing skills including fixing leaks, repairing toilets, unblocking drains, and replacing fixtures.
• Basic electrical knowledge such as installing conduits, wiring, and replacing switches and outlets under supervision.
• Ability to read and follow construction drawings and specifications.
• Physically fit and capable of working in construction environments.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and construction standards.
• Good problem-solving and hands-on technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Construct, install, and repair wooden structures based on project specifications.
• Perform carpentry works including framing, flooring, roofing, and finishing tasks.
• Carry out minor masonry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance tasks as needed.
• Ensure accurate measurements, cutting, and assembly of materials.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Follow safety standards and construction site regulations.
• Coordinate with other construction workers and supervisors.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and durability.
• Assist in general maintenance and repair tasks as required on-site.
