CANTEEN STAFF

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent; vocational training in Food and Beverage Services, Hospitality, or Cookery is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a canteen, cafeteria, restaurant, food service establishment, or similar environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting supplies when necessary.
• Honest, dependable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems is an advantage.
• Willing to work flexible schedules as required by school operations.
• Willing to work in Qatar under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve food, beverages, and snacks in accordance with school standards and food safety regulations.
• Assist in food preparation, portioning, packaging, and presentation.
• Operate the serving counter and provide courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining area, food preparation areas, and food service equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, kitchen tools, and other food service equipment.
• Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
• Receive, organize, and replenish food stocks and inventory as needed.
• Operate cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems and accurately handle cash and other payment transactions.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and occupational health and safety procedures at all times.
• Assist in stock inventory, reporting shortages, and minimizing food waste.
• Support the canteen supervisor during busy meal periods and school events.
• Perform other food service and housekeeping duties as assigned.
