The Protea is seeking a talented and experienced Cake Artist for an overseas work opportunity in Qatar. The successful candidate will specialize in creating, decorating, and presenting high-quality bespoke cakes for weddings, celebrations, and special events.

The ideal candidate should have strong cake decorating, design, and finishing skills, with the creativity and technical ability to transform client concepts into professionally crafted cakes. Applicants must be able to provide sample photos or videos of previous work for evaluation.

CAKE ARTIST

Qualifications:

  • Must have at least a Vocational or TESDA Certificate in Baking, Pastry, Culinary Arts, Cake Decorating, or a related field.
  • Must have 3–5 years of relevant experience as a Cake Artist or in a similar professional cake decorating position.
  • Must have proven experience creating bespoke wedding cakes and celebration cakes.
  • Strong skills in cake decoration, fondant work, piping, sugar craft, sculpting, and cake finishing are highly advantageous.
  • Must have excellent creativity, attention to detail, and a strong sense of design and presentation.
  • Must be able to interpret client requirements and translate ideas into customized cake designs.
  • Must be able to work efficiently while meeting deadlines for weddings, celebrations, and special events.
  • Must be able to provide sample photos or videos of previous cake work for evaluation.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, prepare, decorate, and finish a variety of customized cakes for weddings, celebrations, and special occasions.
  • Create bespoke wedding cakes and celebration cakes based on client requirements, themes, designs, and specifications.
  • Prepare cake batters, fillings, frostings, icings, creams, and other components used in cake production.
  • Apply professional cake decorating techniques, including piping, fondant work, sugar decoration, sculpting, painting, and other decorative finishes.
  • Ensure cakes have excellent taste, texture, structure, appearance, and presentation.
  • Transform concepts, sketches, references, and customer requirements into attractive finished cake designs.
  • Assemble and finish multi-tiered cakes while ensuring proper stability and professional presentation.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all cake products.
  • Manage preparation schedules to ensure cakes are completed and ready for events and deliveries on time.
  • Maintain proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Keep cake production areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Monitor ingredients and supplies required for cake production and report shortages when necessary.
  • Maintain a portfolio of completed cake designs and provide photos or videos of previous work when required.
