Australian Skilled Migration is currently seeking experienced and skilled Boat Mechanics for deployment to Australia. The successful candidate will perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of marine engines and boat systems to ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
BOAT MECHANIC
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience as a Marine Mechanic.
- At least 1 year in college or completion of a 1-year vocational course.
- Experience in boat maintenance and repair is an advantage.
- Knowledgeable in marine engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- Familiar with marine mechanical systems including:
- Engines
- Fuel systems
- Cooling systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical components
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions.
- Skilled in using marine diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
- Physically fit and capable of working in marine and workshop environments.
- Responsible, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines and boat systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in boats and marine equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance including oil changes, lubrication, tune-ups, and component replacement.
- Repair and replace worn or defective engine and mechanical parts.
- Test marine engines and systems after repairs to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and marine equipment.
- Follow workplace safety regulations, environmental standards, and company operational procedures.
- Coordinate with supervisors, marine engineers, and vessel operators regarding maintenance schedules and repair requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and workshop facilities.
