Accounting & Commercial Manager

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
• Significant experience in accounting, finance, and commercial management.
• Experience within the mining, resources, heavy industry, or similar operational environment is highly relevant.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, governance, and risk management.
• Experience with commercial analysis, contracts, supplier management, and cost control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
• Ability to work closely with senior management and operational teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to translate financial information into practical business insights.

Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting & Governance

• Oversee all financial accounting activities and ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with IFRS.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory reporting, and corporate governance requirements.
• Maintain and strengthen internal control systems and risk management frameworks.
• Lead financial audits and reviews.
• Coordinate and liaise with external auditors.
• Ensure financial processes and reporting meet company and regulatory requirements.

Commercial Management

• Provide commercial analysis and financial insights to support operational decision-making.
• Manage annual budgets, financial forecasts, and rolling forecasts.
• Monitor cost performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
• Evaluate contracts, suppliers, and commercial terms to maximize business value.
• Support business cases, investment analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Provide financial and commercial advice to site management.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities affecting business performance.

Business Partnership & Leadership

• Act as a trusted financial and commercial advisor to the General Manager and site leadership team.
• Develop, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
• Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective communication between site operations and corporate finance.
• Support strategic planning and long-term value creation.
• Provide financial information and analysis to assist management in making informed business decisions.
