Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking qualified and experienced AC and Refrigeration Mechanics for an overseas work opportunity in New Zealand. The successful candidates will perform installation, servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and residential HVAC and refrigeration systems, including heat pumps, packaged air-conditioning systems, AHUs, and FCUs.

AC and REFRIGERATION MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Maximum age: 45 years old.
• Minimum 3 years of overseas work experience.
• Proven experience in commercial and residential HVAC servicing and installation.
• Experience installing heat pumps and packaged air-conditioning systems.
• Experience with refrigeration pipework, including refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging.
• Practical experience with copper pipework and ductwork installation.
• Experience installing and servicing AHUs (Air Handling Units) and FCUs (Fan Coil Units).
• Experience performing routine and preventative HVAC and refrigeration maintenance.
• Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out breakdown repairs.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Experience in commercial construction and HVAC installation projects is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of refrigeration systems, refrigerant handling, pipework, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment.
• Ability to safely use HVAC and refrigeration tools, testing equipment, recovery machines, vacuum pumps, gauges, and related equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Good English communication skills are essential.
• Must be willing and able to complete the IELTS.
• Must be willing and able to obtain an IELTS Overall Band Score of 4.0.
• Must have complete and verifiable employment documentation.
• Applicants must be currently residing in the Philippines throughout the application process.
• Physically fit and capable of performing HVAC and refrigeration installation and maintenance work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to follow New Zealand workplace safety requirements, company procedures, and technical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Install, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and residential HVAC systems.
• Install and commission heat pumps and packaged air-conditioning systems.
• Install, inspect, and maintain refrigeration systems and associated components.
• Perform refrigeration pipework installation and ensure piping systems are properly connected and sealed.
• Carry out refrigerant recovery, system evacuation, and refrigerant charging according to approved procedures.
• Work with copper pipework for refrigeration and air-conditioning installations.
• Install and connect ductwork for HVAC and ventilation systems.
• Install, inspect, service, and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs).
• Install, inspect, service, and maintain Fan Coil Units (FCUs).
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and system performance problems.
• Perform breakdown repairs and replace defective or worn components.
• Test HVAC and refrigeration systems after installation or repair to ensure proper operation.
• Check refrigerant pressures, system performance, airflow, temperatures, and other operating parameters.
• Identify refrigerant leaks and carry out appropriate repair and testing procedures.
• Use appropriate HVAC and refrigeration tools, testing instruments, recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, gauges, and charging equipment.
• Follow manufacturer specifications, technical instructions, and industry-standard installation and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure refrigeration and air-conditioning systems operate efficiently and safely.
• Maintain accurate service, maintenance, installation, and repair records.
• Keep tools, equipment, work areas, and job sites clean and organized.
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with builders, electricians, engineers, supervisors, customers, and other trades during commercial and residential projects.
• Report equipment faults, safety concerns, additional repair requirements, and project issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform other HVAC, air-conditioning, and refrigeration duties assigned by management.
