Stellar Recruitment (NZ) Limited is seeking experienced Truck Mechanics to support fleet maintenance operations in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy trucks and ensuring optimal performance, safety, and reliability.

Truck Mechanic

Qualifications:

  • Preferably not more than 50 years old
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience as a Truck Mechanic
  • Overseas and locally employed candidates are welcome
  • OEM or manufacturer training is an advantage
  • Must provide verifiable proof of employment experience
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy vehicle systems
  • Experience in hydraulics, electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, service, and repair heavy trucks and related transport vehicles
  • Work on engines focusing on speed control, fuel efficiency, and performance optimization
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems including brakes and power steering
  • Troubleshoot electronic systems such as emission control systems and GPS tracking
  • Repair and maintain key vehicle components including axles, transmissions, and tires
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and routine inspections
  • Ensure all vehicles meet safety and roadworthiness standards
  • Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
  • Respond to breakdowns and perform roadside or workshop repairs as requiredQualifications, Skills and Competencies:
