TIG WELDER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required.
- No minimum educational attainment is required for this position.
- Proven experience as a TIG Welder in industrial, manufacturing, fabrication, construction, shipyard, or similar environments.
- Preferably with strong aluminum welding experience.
- Experienced in TIG welding aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals.
- Skilled in preparing, fitting, aligning, and positioning materials before welding.
- Strong knowledge of TIG welding techniques, equipment settings, shielding gases, tungsten electrodes, and filler materials.
- Ability to read and understand welding drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Skilled in producing clean, precise, and high-quality welds with minimal defects.
- Knowledge of weld inspection, defect identification, grinding, cleaning, and finishing techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
- Physically fit and capable of performing welding work for extended periods and in various positions.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and committed to meeting production schedules and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal materials according to specifications and work instructions.
- Prepare, clean, fit, and position materials and components before welding.
- Read and interpret welding drawings, technical specifications, measurements, and work instructions.
- Set up and adjust TIG welding machines and related equipment according to material and project requirements.
- Select appropriate welding parameters, tungsten electrodes, filler materials, and shielding gas for different applications.
- Perform precise welds while maintaining proper weld size, penetration, alignment, and appearance.
- Weld aluminum components using appropriate TIG welding techniques and procedures.
- Inspect materials and joints before welding to ensure proper preparation and fit-up.
- Perform tack welding and final welding as required.
- Grind, clean, and finish welded surfaces according to project requirements.
- Inspect completed welds for cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, and other defects.
- Repair defective welds and perform necessary corrective and finishing work.
- Use welding machines, grinders, measuring instruments, clamps, hand tools, and other fabrication equipment safely and correctly.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Follow approved welding procedures, quality standards, workplace safety rules, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle welding materials and waste.
- Coordinate with pipe fitters, fabricators, supervisors, and other production personnel to ensure proper fit-up and workflow.
- Report material defects, equipment problems, welding issues, or safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Complete assigned welding work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and precision.
- Perform other related welding and fabrication duties as assigned by management.
