Supervisor – Airport Systems – AGL

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience in airfield lighting, airport electrical systems, electrical maintenance, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Experience with Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of ALCMS, CCRs, primary and secondary airfield lighting cables, and AFL fixtures.
• Experience troubleshooting earth faults, open-circuit faults, and electrical wiring problems.
• Knowledge of runway and taxiway lighting systems, including TCL, TDZ, PAPI, and Blue Edge Lights.
• Ability to use multimeters, insulation testers, and other electrical testing instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics, blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, inspection, testing, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment.
• Ability to supervise or coordinate helpers and AGL technicians.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of electrical and airfield safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a technical team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage helpers and AGL technicians and coordinate daily work activities.
• Report daily activities, maintenance work, and operational concerns to the assigned engineer.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Airfield Light Control and Monitoring Systems (ALCMS) for airport runways and taxiways.
• Install, lay, inspect, and replace primary and secondary airfield lighting cables.
• Troubleshoot and repair Constant Current Regulators (CCRs) and related airfield lighting equipment.
• Troubleshoot earth faults, open-circuit faults, wiring problems, and other electrical system issues.
• Conduct field inspections and serviceability checks of airfield lighting systems and equipment.
• Operate and perform preventive maintenance on expeditionary airfield systems.
• Install, inspect, test, and perform preventive maintenance on Constant Current Regulators (CCRs).
• Install and maintain different types of Airfield Lighting Fixtures (AFL), including TCL, TDZ, PAPI, Blue Edge Lights, and other runway and taxiway lighting equipment.
• Follow published safety regulations when working near or on runways and understand designated hazardous zones.
• Utilize required visual, hard, and light signals during airfield recovery and maintenance operations.
• Maintain tools, instruments, testing equipment, and other electrical maintenance equipment.
• Use electrical measurement and testing instruments such as multimeters and insulation testers.
• Assemble, evaluate, test, maintain, and repair electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning electrical and electronic equipment.
• Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and approved specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, testing, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Follow airport, electrical, occupational health, and safety procedures at all times.
