Summit Homes Group is offering an overseas employment opportunity for qualified applicants seeking a Steel Framer position in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring, cutting, assembling, and installing steel framing systems for walls, roofs, and floors in construction projects.

STEEL FRAMER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least graduates of a four-year undergraduate course.
• High school graduates must be willing to take the IELTS or PTE English proficiency test.
• Must have substantial experience in steel framing and metal construction systems.
• Must be able to read and interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, blueprints, and framing layouts.
• Must be skilled in measuring, cutting, and assembling metal studs, tracks, runners, furring channels, and steel sections.
• Must have experience installing steel wall frames, roof trusses, floor systems, and related structural components.
• Familiarity with SHS and RHS steel sections, cladding, and roofing installation is an advantage.
• Must understand framing alignment, leveling, squaring, and secure fastening requirements.
• Must be competent in using hand tools, power tools, drills, grinders, laser levels, and chalk lines.
• Must understand construction site safety procedures and the safe operation of elevated work platforms.
• Must be physically capable of performing steel framing and construction tasks.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.
• Must be willing and qualified to work in Australia, subject to applicable employment and visa requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret architectural drawings, structural plans, blueprints, and framing layouts.
• Measure, mark, cut, and assemble metal studs, tracks, runners, furring channels, and steel sections.
• Install steel wall framing, roof trusses, and floor framing systems according to project specifications.
• Install and work with square hollow sections (SHS), rectangular hollow sections (RHS), and other structural steel components.
• Fit and install cladding and roofing components as required.
• Ensure framing systems are level, plumb, square, properly aligned, and securely fastened according to engineering specifications.
• Verify measurements and framing dimensions against construction plans and technical drawings.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, laser levels, chalk lines, drills, grinders, and elevated work platforms.
• Inspect completed framing installations to identify defects, alignment issues, or installation errors.
• Coordinate with supervisors and other construction workers to complete projects efficiently.
• Maintain tools and equipment and keep the worksite clean and organized.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including safe lifting and working-at-heights requirements.
