STAFF NURSE II – SPECIALIST

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of relevant nursing work experience is required.
• Must hold a valid professional nursing license and have passed the required board or professional licensure examination.
• Registered Nurses with experience in critical care and/or general nursing areas are welcome to apply.
• Applicants with experience in any of the following specialties are encouraged to apply: Cardiac Care, Cardiac Surgery, Pediatrics, Neonatal Care, Labor and Delivery (L&D), and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• With or without SCFHS DataFlow and Prometric.
• Knowledge of patient assessment, medication administration, IV therapy, vital signs monitoring, care planning, and clinical documentation.
• Good communication, teamwork, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.
• Able to provide culturally sensitive, patient-centered care while respecting patient privacy, dignity, and rights.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care while respecting each patient’s privacy, dignity, cultural preferences, and individual needs.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including age-appropriate evaluations, health education needs, and discharge planning.
• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Establish measurable and culturally appropriate patient-care goals, monitor progress, and modify care plans according to changes in the patient’s condition.
• Administer prescribed medications, manage IV lines and fluids, monitor vital signs, and perform nursing procedures within professional scope and hospital protocols.
• Monitor patient conditions and treatment outcomes, identify significant changes or warning signs, and promptly report or escalate concerns.
• Provide evidence-based nursing interventions in accordance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and quality standards.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medication use, self-care, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely nursing records, patient assessments, care plans, and clinical reports.
• Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity, safety, and quality of patient care.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and properly equipped patient-care environment and follow infection prevention and control procedures.
• Protect patient confidentiality and uphold patients’ rights and applicable professional and ethical standards.
• Perform additional nursing duties related to the assigned specialty or clinical area as required by the hospital.
