Gemlife Administration Pty Ltd is offering an overseas employment opportunity for qualified applicants seeking a Solid Plasterer position in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing wall and ceiling surfaces, mixing and applying cement, render, and plaster, and performing decorative plastering and finishing work on construction projects.

SOLID PLASTERER

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• Candidates must be at least graduates of a four-year undergraduate course.
• High school graduates must be willing to take the IELTS or PTE English proficiency test.
• Must have substantial experience in solid plastering, cement rendering, and plaster finishing.
• Must be skilled in preparing, leveling, and smoothing wall and ceiling surfaces.
• Must know how to mix and apply cement, plaster, and render using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Experience with mechanical plaster projection machines is an advantage.
• Must have experience installing decorative plaster features, including cornices, mouldings, ceiling centres, and roses.
• Must be able to create textured and specialized plaster finishes.
• Must be capable of reading and interpreting architectural plans, site specifications, and measurements.
• Must understand construction site safety procedures, including scaffolding safety and the proper use of PPE.
• Must be physically capable of performing plastering and rendering tasks on construction sites.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive a four-wheeled vehicle.
• Must be willing and qualified to work in Australia, subject to applicable employment and visa requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare wall and ceiling surfaces by cleaning, leveling, plumbing, and straightening corners and angles.
• Cover joints, nail holes, cracks, and other surface imperfections with appropriate compounds.
• Sand plastered surfaces to achieve a smooth and even finish.
• Mix and apply cement, render, and plaster using hand trowels, hawks, and mechanical projection machines.
• Apply plaster and render coats to interior and exterior surfaces according to project specifications.
• Install pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, ceiling centres, roses, and other decorative plaster features.
• Create textured surfaces and specialized finishing coats to meet design requirements.
• Read and interpret architectural plans, site specifications, drawings, and measurements.
• Measure materials and determine the quantities required for plastering and rendering work.
• Set up work areas and use scaffolding and access equipment safely.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow Work Health and Safety (WHS/OHS) regulations.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
• Maintain plastering tools and equipment and keep the worksite clean and organized.
