Senior Electrician (Cranes & Heavy Equipment)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
- Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in a relevant or similar field.
- Degree/Diploma in a similar field is preferred.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Strong hands-on experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of cranes, heavy vehicles, and heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, control systems, sensors, and electrical components used in heavy equipment.
- Ability to diagnose and repair electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic and testing tools.
- Experience with LMI calibration and troubleshooting.
- Experience in GPS and black box installation, repair, and monitoring.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance instructions.
- Knowledge of preventive, corrective, and emergency electrical maintenance procedures.
- Good understanding of electrical safety, equipment safety, and workplace maintenance standards.
- IT skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and MS Outlook).
- Knowledge of ERP systems is preferable.
- Good knowledge of English in writing, speaking, and understanding.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Physically capable of performing hands-on electrical maintenance, inspection, installation, and emergency breakdown work.
Responsibilities:
- Perform safe, thorough, and reliable electrical maintenance of company equipment as instructed by the Fleet Supervisor.
- Maintain and service the electrical systems and components of cranes, heavy vehicles, and other heavy equipment.
- Identify, diagnose, and repair electrical problems in cranes, vehicles, and equipment using appropriate diagnostic tools.
- Inspect electrical wiring, connections, circuits, components, sensors, switches, batteries, lighting systems, and control systems.
- Perform servicing, repair, replacement, and adjustment of defective electrical parts and components.
- Conduct preventive and scheduled electrical maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtime.
- Test electrical systems and components after repairs to verify safe and proper operation.
- Use electrical testing instruments, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely and correctly.
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, equipment manuals, technical instructions, and work procedures.
- Complete relevant maintenance, inspection, repair, and service documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Advise the Fleet Supervisor regarding required spare parts, electrical components, consumables, tools, and maintenance materials.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials, damaged wiring, abnormal conditions, and other potential equipment problems.
- Report equipment defects, unusual situations, recurring electrical faults, and major repair requirements to the appropriate supervisor.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and perform necessary electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform LMI (Load Moment Indicator) calibration and troubleshooting on applicable cranes and equipment.
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, and monitor GPS and black box systems for cranes, vehicles, and other equipment.
- Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and electronic equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with mechanics, fleet supervisors, equipment operators, and other maintenance personnel during troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, maintenance schedules, technical procedures, and company work instructions.
- Comply with electrical safety requirements, site safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas, workshops, tools, and equipment.
- Properly handle electrical components, cables, batteries, tools, testing instruments, and other maintenance materials.
- Perform other electrical maintenance and fleet-related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.
