ABM Contracting Services Suriname N.V. is seeking a skilled and experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician for an overseas work opportunity in Suriname. The successful candidate will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems while diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in refrigeration and HVAC.
• Knowledge of refrigeration and air-conditioning installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Experience handling refrigerants and using refrigeration tools and testing equipment.
• Technical certification or vocational training in refrigeration, air conditioning, HVAC, or a related field is an advantage.
• F-Gas Certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license is an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and proper refrigerant handling procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically fit and capable of performing technical work at different locations.
• Responsible, reliable, and safety-conscious.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
• Inspect refrigeration and HVAC systems to identify worn, damaged, or defective components.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Handle refrigerants safely and perform refrigerant charging, recovery, leak detection, and related servicing as required.
• Use refrigeration tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment properly.
• Test equipment after installation, servicing, and repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Replace defective components and perform necessary adjustments and repairs.
• Monitor system performance and identify potential problems before equipment failure.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and replaced components.
• Follow proper refrigerant handling, environmental, health, and safety procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
• Respond to service calls and equipment breakdowns as required.
• Coordinate with supervisors, clients, and other technicians to complete assigned work.
• Perform other refrigeration and air-conditioning duties as assigned.
