QC Welding Inspector
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a QC Welding Inspector or in a similar welding quality-control position.
- Strong knowledge of welding inspection, weld quality requirements, and inspection procedures.
- Familiarity with welding processes, welding defects, joint preparation, fit-up, and applicable quality requirements.
- Able to read and understand welding drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and inspection documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify welding defects and non-conformities.
- Must have genuine and verifiable employment records.
- Very good English communication skills are required.
- Able to prepare clear inspection reports and communicate effectively with project personnel.
- Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect welding activities and completed welds to ensure compliance with approved procedures and project specifications.
- Monitor welding operations, including joint preparation, fit-up, welding, and post-weld activities.
- Review welding procedures, drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, and quality documentation.
- Verify that welders are performing work according to approved welding procedures and project requirements.
- Conduct visual inspection of welds and identify defects, imperfections, or non-conformities.
- Coordinate and monitor non-destructive testing (NDT) activities when required.
- Review welding inspection and test results and ensure proper documentation.
- Verify welding materials, consumables, equipment, and related documentation as required.
- Prepare inspection reports, quality records, punch lists, and other QC documentation.
- Identify non-conforming work and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with relevant personnel.
- Coordinate with welders, pipe fitters, supervisors, engineers, NDT personnel, and project management.
- Ensure inspection activities are properly documented and traceable.
- Follow project quality-control procedures, safety requirements, and applicable inspection standards.
- Perform other quality-control and welding inspection duties as assigned.
