QA / QC INSPECTOR (E&I)
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Experience in large-scale construction projects is required.
- Strong practical experience in Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) inspection and quality control.
- Good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation installation practices and inspection requirements.
- Ability to inspect E&I installations against approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
- Good understanding of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection requests, checklists, and quality documentation.
- Experience witnessing and documenting electrical and instrumentation testing activities.
- Ability to identify installation defects, deviations, non-conformities, and workmanship issues.
- Good understanding of material inspection, identification, traceability, and quality documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical, instrumentation, construction, and safety standards.
- Knowledge of QCS Standards is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand electrical and instrumentation drawings, layouts, specifications, and technical documents.
- Good knowledge of inspection records, test reports, quality forms, and document control practices.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills when working with engineers, supervisors, technicians, contractors, and other disciplines.
- Ability to work independently while supporting the QA/QC Engineer and project quality team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow up on corrective actions.
- Organized, disciplined, proactive, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
- Strong commitment to maintaining project quality standards and approved procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day QA/QC inspections of electrical and instrumentation installation activities.
- Inspect E&I works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project quality requirements.
- Verify that electrical and instrumentation installations are carried out according to approved construction methods and applicable standards.
- Conduct inspections of cabling, cable trays, conduits, terminations, panels, equipment, lighting, grounding, and related electrical installations.
- Inspect instrumentation installation activities, including field instruments, tubing, fittings, junction boxes, cables, supports, and related equipment.
- Verify proper installation, alignment, identification, routing, connection, and workmanship of E&I components.
- Review relevant drawings, specifications, method statements, inspection procedures, and quality requirements before conducting inspections.
- Witness and perform inspections in accordance with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and inspection procedures.
- Coordinate inspection activities with the construction team, QA/QC Engineer, Site Engineer, and other project personnel.
- Verify that required inspection points and hold/witness points are properly completed and documented.
- Check materials and equipment for compliance with approved specifications and project requirements.
- Verify material identification, traceability, certificates, and inspection documentation when required.
- Inspect completed E&I installations and identify defects, non-conformities, incomplete work, or deviations from approved requirements.
- Record inspection findings accurately and communicate quality issues to the appropriate project personnel.
- Support the QA/QC Engineer in monitoring and maintaining project quality standards.
- Assist in preparing inspection requests, checklists, inspection reports, and other quality documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized inspection records, test reports, quality forms, and supporting documentation.
- Monitor corrective actions and verify that identified defects or non-conformities are properly rectified.
- Participate in re-inspections after corrective work has been completed.
- Coordinate with relevant personnel to resolve quality issues and prevent recurring defects.
- Witness applicable electrical and instrumentation testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, grounding, functional checks, loop checks, and other project-required tests.
- Verify that testing and inspection activities are performed using approved procedures and calibrated equipment where applicable.
- Ensure that inspection results are properly recorded and traceable to the relevant equipment, system, or installation.
- Monitor workmanship and installation practices to ensure consistency with project quality standards.
- Ensure that applicable QCS Standards and other project requirements are considered during inspection activities where required.
- Participate in quality meetings, inspections, walkthroughs, and coordination activities as assigned.
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of approved QA/QC procedures at the project site.
- Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, piping, civil, and other disciplines when inspection activities overlap.
- Report significant quality concerns, deviations, and non-conformities to the QA/QC Engineer or responsible supervisor.
- Maintain proper filing and traceability of all inspection and quality-related documents.
- Promote a strong quality culture and ensure that work is completed correctly before progressing to subsequent activities.
- Perform other QA/QC inspection and site-related duties assigned by management.
