Elite Construcciones is seeking an experienced PTW (Permit to Work) Coordinator for a Chevron and Equatorial Guinea LNG (EG LNG) shutdown project. This is a project-based assignment of approximately 80 days, covering onshore and offshore platform shutdown operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system, ensuring hazardous work activities are properly assessed, authorized, and monitored in accordance with company procedures, client requirements, and international oil and gas safety standards.
PTW COORDINATOR (PERMIT TO WORK COORDINATOR)
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a PTW (Permit to Work) Coordinator in the oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or industrial sector.
- Must be familiar with oil and gas permitting procedures, including reviewing permit requests, assessing workplace risks, and authorizing permits for hazardous and critical jobs.
- Must have Firewatch training and be competent in performing Firewatch duties during hot work operations.
- Strong knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and isolation procedures.
- Thorough understanding of confined space entry, hot work, lifting operations, working at heights, electrical work, and other high-risk activities.
- Excellent knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to oil and gas facilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in maintaining permit records and preparing reports using Microsoft Office applications.
- Able to work effectively under pressure during shutdown and turnaround projects.
- Physically fit and willing to work in industrial, onshore, and offshore environments.
- Willing to work in Equatorial Guinea and comply with company and client safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Administer and coordinate the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for shutdown and maintenance activities.
- Review permit requests to ensure all required documentation, risk assessments, and supporting approvals are complete.
- Assess workplace hazards and verify that appropriate control measures are implemented before permits are issued.
- Issue, authorize, suspend, extend, and close work permits in accordance with company and client procedures.
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, construction, and HSE teams to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Monitor compliance with permit conditions for high-risk activities, including:
- Hot Work
- Confined Space Entry
- Working at Heights
- Electrical Isolation (LOTO)
- Lifting Operations
- Excavation
- Pressure Testing
- Radiography and other critical work
- Verify that Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, Toolbox Talks, gas testing, and isolation certificates are completed before work begins.
- Monitor active permits and conduct site inspections to ensure work is performed within the approved scope and validity period.
- Identify and manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) to minimize operational risks.
- Maintain accurate permit registers, inspection records, audit reports, and PTW documentation.
- Coordinate permit handovers between shifts and ensure effective communication among work teams.
- Support or perform Firewatch duties during hot work activities, ensuring fire prevention measures are in place.
- Participate in incident investigations related to permit-controlled work and recommend corrective actions.
- Promote compliance with health, safety, environmental, and client requirements throughout the project.
- Perform other PTW and work control responsibilities assigned by management.
