Japuri Sdn Bhd is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Import/Export Coordinator to manage and coordinate import and export activities in Brunei Darussalam. The successful candidate will handle shipment documentation, coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and customers, and monitor cargo from origin to final delivery while ensuring compliance with applicable customs and trade requirements.
IMPORT/EXPORT COORDINATOR
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in import/export coordination, freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, customs, or international trade is preferred.
- Good knowledge of import and export procedures and international shipping processes.
- Familiarity with air and sea freight operations and related documentation.
- Knowledge of customs clearance requirements, import permits, and applicable trade regulations.
- Ability to prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, permits, and other shipping documents.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipment and customs documentation.
- Ability to monitor multiple shipments and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, and transport providers.
- Good computer skills and ability to maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
- Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable, responsible, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required by shipment schedules and operational requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Prepare, review, and process import and export documentation accurately and on time.
- Coordinate with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines, customs brokers, and transport providers.
- Arrange bookings for air and sea shipments based on cargo requirements and delivery schedules.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, permits, certificates, and other required shipping documents.
- Ensure that all shipment information, quantities, descriptions, values, and destinations are accurate and complete.
- Coordinate customs clearance and provide required documentation to customs brokers and relevant authorities.
- Monitor applicable import and export regulations, customs requirements, and documentation procedures.
- Follow up on import permits, licenses, certificates, and other regulatory requirements when necessary.
- Track shipments and monitor cargo movement from origin to destination.
- Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, delays, or changes.
- Coordinate transportation and delivery arrangements for incoming and outgoing cargo.
- Liaise with warehouses regarding cargo receiving, storage, loading, and dispatch.
- Verify received and dispatched goods against shipping and order documentation.
- Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies, shipment delays, damaged cargo, or other logistics issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of import/export transactions, shipment documents, and customs clearances.
- Monitor shipping schedules and coordinate adjustments to minimize delays and additional costs.
- Assist in obtaining freight quotations and coordinating shipment-related costs when required.
- Ensure import and export activities comply with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Prepare regular reports on shipment status, pending documentation, and import/export activities.
- Perform other import, export, logistics, and administrative duties assigned by management.
