Japuri Sdn Bhd is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Air & Sea Freight Coordinator to manage and coordinate freight forwarding activities for air and sea shipments in Brunei Darussalam. The successful candidate will coordinate shipments from booking and documentation through customs clearance and final delivery while communicating with carriers, customs authorities, clients, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient movement of goods.
Air & Sea Freight Coordinator
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in air and sea freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, import/export, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of air freight and sea freight procedures, documentation, and shipment coordination.
- Familiarity with shipping documents such as Air Waybills (AWB), Bills of Lading (B/L), commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Knowledge of import and export procedures and customs clearance requirements.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent attention to detail when preparing and checking freight documentation.
- Ability to monitor multiple shipments and meet strict shipping schedules and deadlines.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, carriers, customs brokers, warehouses, transport providers, and overseas agents.
- Good computer skills and ability to maintain electronic and physical shipment records.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Reliable, responsible, proactive, and detail-oriented.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work flexible hours when required by shipping schedules and operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate air and sea freight shipments from booking through final delivery.
- Arrange shipment bookings with airlines, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and other logistics service providers.
- Prepare, review, and process shipping and freight documentation accurately.
- Coordinate import and export shipments according to customer requirements and shipping schedules.
- Monitor shipment status and provide timely updates to customers and management.
- Track cargo movement and follow up on delays, schedule changes, or other shipment issues.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and relevant authorities regarding customs clearance requirements.
- Ensure all required shipping, customs, and supporting documents are complete before shipment.
- Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, air waybills, permits, and other freight documentation.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel regarding cargo receiving, storage, loading, and dispatch.
- Arrange transportation and delivery of cleared shipments to the appropriate destination.
- Communicate with customers regarding shipment schedules, documentation requirements, delivery arrangements, and cargo status.
- Liaise with airlines, shipping lines, transport companies, customs brokers, and overseas agents.
- Verify shipment details, cargo quantities, destinations, and delivery instructions.
- Assist in resolving documentation discrepancies, shipment delays, damaged cargo, and other freight-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, shipment documents, tracking information, delivery status, and related transactions.
- Monitor freight schedules and coordinate changes when necessary to minimize delays.
- Ensure shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Assist with freight quotations, shipment cost coordination, and other administrative logistics tasks when required.
- Perform other freight forwarding, logistics, and coordination duties assigned by management.
