Job Location: Oman
Dhofar Fisheries & Food Industries Company is looking for qualified and experienced Production Supervisors (Canning) to join its production team in Oman. This opportunity is specifically intended for candidates with hands-on experience in sardine production who can effectively supervise canning operations, production personnel, equipment, quality control, and food safety procedures. PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Canning)
Qualifications:
- Must have experience in sardine production.
- Hands-on experience in sardine processing, seafood production, or canning operations is required.
- Previous supervisory experience in a food processing, seafood processing, or canning facility is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of sardine production processes, including preparation, processing, canning, sterilization, sealing, and packaging.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and quality control procedures.
- Ability to supervise, lead, and coordinate production workers effectively.
- Ability to monitor production schedules, targets, quality standards, and operational performance.
- Familiarity with food-processing machinery and canning production equipment.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and food safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Responsible, disciplined, reliable, and capable of leading a production team.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily sardine production and canning operations.
- Oversee production activities from raw sardine preparation through processing, canning, sterilization, packaging, and storage.
- Assign duties and coordinate production workers based on production schedules and operational requirements.
- Monitor production lines to ensure targets, schedules, and quality standards are achieved.
- Ensure proper handling, preparation, and processing of sardines throughout the production cycle.
- Monitor canning, filling, sealing, sterilization, labeling, and packaging operations.
- Ensure production processes are performed according to established operating procedures and food safety requirements.
- Monitor processing temperatures, time, equipment settings, and other critical production parameters.
- Inspect products and production processes for quality, consistency, appearance, weight, and proper packaging.
- Identify production problems, equipment issues, quality deviations, and process inefficiencies and take appropriate corrective action.
- Coordinate with quality control personnel to address product quality and food safety concerns.
- Coordinate with maintenance personnel regarding equipment breakdowns, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Monitor the availability and proper use of raw materials, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Maintain proper hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping standards within the production and canning areas.
- Ensure production workers follow food safety, occupational health, and workplace safety procedures.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by production personnel.
- Train, guide, and supervise workers on production procedures, equipment operation, hygiene, and safety practices.
- Monitor worker performance and maintain an organized and productive work environment.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, production logs, and other required documentation.
- Monitor production losses, defects, downtime, and material wastage and implement measures to minimize them.
- Coordinate with warehouse, quality control, maintenance, and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Report production progress, operational issues, delays, and significant incidents to management.
- Assist in improving production efficiency, product quality, workplace safety, and overall canning operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and established food processing and production standards.
- Perform other production supervision duties assigned by management.
