PLANNING ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of working experience as a Planning Engineer or in a related project planning position.
- Must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Others) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects.
- Mandatory Gulf / Middle East experience.
- Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Experience calculating quantities for civil, piping, mechanical equipment, electrical, and instrumentation works.
- Strong knowledge of project progress monitoring, scheduling, planning, and reporting.
- Experience preparing daily, weekly, monthly, and master progress reports.
- Skilled in preparing look-ahead reports, progress dashboards, and project status reports.
- Knowledge of procurement tracking and ability to follow up on materials, equipment, and other procurement requirements.
- Experience in identifying project risks and preparing appropriate mitigation measures.
- Knowledge of project resource planning and monitoring, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to monitor planned versus actual progress and identify schedule deviations.
- Knowledge of cost reports, progress measurements, and project invoicing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in preparing project reports and schedules.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams and site personnel.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project reporting deadlines.
- Reliable, organized, proactive, and capable of working independently.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules in accordance with approved project plans and execution requirements.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Calculate and verify quantities for civil, piping, mechanical equipment, electrical, and instrumentation works.
- Monitor day-to-day project progress and compare actual performance against planned schedules.
- Collect progress information from site teams and update project schedules and tracking systems.
- Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Prepare and maintain project progress dashboards for management review.
- Track work activities, milestones, deliverables, and critical project targets.
- Identify schedule delays, progress variances, and potential impacts on project completion.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, procurement, QA/QC, and other project departments to obtain accurate progress information.
- Track the status of procurement items, including material requirements, purchase orders, deliveries, and outstanding items.
- Follow up with procurement and relevant departments regarding delayed or pending materials and equipment.
- Prepare regular procurement status reports and highlight critical items that may affect project progress.
- Prepare look-ahead reports covering upcoming activities, required resources, materials, and project requirements.
- Monitor project risks, identify potential schedule and execution issues, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Track the implementation and effectiveness of agreed risk mitigation actions.
- Plan, monitor, and report project resources, including manpower, equipment, materials, and other requirements.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure resources are available in accordance with planned activities.
- Prepare master, monthly, weekly, and daily progress reports and ensure consistency of project data.
- Develop project dashboards and visual progress summaries for management and client reporting.
- Monitor planned versus actual progress and provide explanations for significant deviations.
- Assist in developing recovery plans and schedule adjustments when project activities fall behind.
- Maintain accurate records of project schedules, progress measurements, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Provide planning and scheduling information required for project meetings and management reviews.
- Assist in monitoring project costs and provide relevant information for cost reports and invoicing.
- Coordinate with commercial and finance teams regarding progress quantities, completed work, and documentation required for invoicing.
- Ensure project reports are submitted accurately and within required deadlines.
- Provide planning support during project meetings and communicate schedule concerns, progress status, and upcoming activities.
- Perform other planning, scheduling, reporting, and project control duties assigned by management.
