PIPING ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of working experience as a Piping Engineer or in a related piping construction and erection position.
- Must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Mechanical) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Extensive experience in piping erection and construction activities.
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometric drawings, GA drawings, specifications, and related engineering documents.
- Extensive hands-on experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping erection.
- Experience in piping installation and erection at elevated levels.
- Experience in pipe support erection and installation.
- Practical knowledge of piping fit-up, alignment, welding, joint preparation, and installation procedures.
- Experience with hydrostatic testing / hydro testing of piping systems.
- Thorough knowledge of piping industry practices, welding requirements, tools, applicable codes, and standards.
- Ability to independently supervise and manage a workforce of approximately 25–30 workers.
- Strong manpower planning, work allocation, supervision, and coordination skills.
- Ability to monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed according to project schedules.
- Strong knowledge of piping construction quality requirements and inspection procedures.
- Good problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, measurements, tolerances, and installation requirements.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with QA/QC, engineering, construction, and other discipline teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint, or equivalent software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate piping erection activities in accordance with approved project specifications, drawings, procedures, and schedules.
- Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping isometric drawings, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and related engineering documents.
- Plan and organize piping installation activities based on project requirements and site conditions.
- Supervise the erection of carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping systems.
- Oversee piping installation at elevated levels while ensuring proper alignment, fit-up, support, and safety requirements.
- Supervise the installation and erection of pipe supports, including structural supports, brackets, hangers, and related components.
- Ensure piping components are installed according to approved drawings, specifications, dimensions, and required tolerances.
- Coordinate piping fit-up, alignment, joint preparation, and installation activities prior to welding.
- Monitor welding activities and ensure applicable welding procedures, specifications, and quality requirements are followed.
- Coordinate with welders, fitters, riggers, scaffolding teams, and other site personnel to maintain efficient piping erection activities.
- Independently supervise and coordinate a workforce of approximately 25–30 workers.
- Allocate manpower and assign daily work activities according to project priorities and available resources.
- Monitor daily productivity and ensure assigned piping activities are completed according to schedule.
- Inspect installed piping and identify issues involving alignment, elevation, orientation, supports, joints, and workmanship.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel regarding piping inspections, testing, punch-list items, and quality documentation.
- Prepare piping systems for hydrostatic testing, including inspection, test preparation, isolation, and coordination of required activities.
- Assist in hydrostatic testing activities and ensure piping systems are properly prepared in accordance with approved procedures.
- Identify installation problems and coordinate appropriate corrective actions with engineering, construction, and QA/QC teams.
- Ensure proper use of piping tools, equipment, lifting equipment, and installation materials.
- Verify that appropriate tools and equipment are available before commencing piping erection activities.
- Monitor material availability and coordinate with relevant departments regarding piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, and other components.
- Check installed piping against drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain proper records of work progress, inspections, testing activities, and piping installation status.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, including mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams, to avoid installation conflicts.
- Ensure piping activities are performed in accordance with applicable industry codes, standards, specifications, and approved procedures.
- Apply thorough knowledge of piping construction practices, welding requirements, tools, equipment, and installation methods.
- Identify potential site constraints, technical issues, and construction risks and take proactive measures to address them.
- Promote safe working practices during elevated piping activities, lifting operations, welding, testing, and general construction work.
- Ensure workers follow established health, safety, and environmental requirements and use appropriate PPE.
- Maintain good housekeeping around piping work areas and ensure tools and materials are properly organized.
- Provide regular updates to supervisors and project management regarding progress, manpower, technical issues, and work requirements.
- Support project completion activities, including punch-list clearance, testing, inspection, and final piping works.
- Perform other piping engineering, supervision, construction, and site-related duties assigned by management.
