T-Three Projects is seeking qualified and experienced Pipe Fitters to work in Zambia. The successful candidates will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, assembling, aligning, and installing piping systems used in mining, heavy industrial, and processing environments. The role requires strong technical knowledge in pipe fabrication, interpretation of isometric drawings, and the installation of various piping materials and components.

Pipe Fitter

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
• At least a high school graduate.
• 3–8 years of experience in mining, heavy industrial, or processing environments.
• Strong technical expertise in pipe fabrication and fitting.
• Proven experience working with HDPE, carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC piping systems.
• Ability to accurately interpret and work from isometric drawings and pipe layouts.
• Knowledge of pipe alignment, fitting, fabrication, dimensions, orientation, and slope requirements.
• Familiarity with piping components such as valves, flanges, pumps, fittings, and supports.
• Knowledge of welding machine setup, electrode selection, and adjustment of welding parameters.
• Strong measurement, fabrication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing pipe fitting work in demanding industrial and mining environments.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and proper work procedures.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Fit, assemble, and align pipes, flanges, valves, pumps, and related piping components.
• Fabricate and install piping systems according to approved drawings, specifications, and site requirements.
• Work with various piping materials, including HDPE, carbon steel, stainless steel, and PVC.
• Measure, mark, cut, bevel, prepare, and fit pipes for fabrication and installation.
• Translate isometric sketches and technical drawings into accurate pipe layouts and fabrication plans.
• Interpret piping symbols, dimensions, elevations, and specifications shown on isometric drawings.
• Ensure correct pipe orientation, dimensions, alignment, and slope based on isometric references.
• Install valves, flanges, fittings, supports, pumps, and other piping components correctly.
• Set up and maintain welding machines used for piping fabrication and installation.
• Select appropriate electrodes and adjust welding machine parameters according to the work requirements.
• Prepare pipe joints and components for welding, connection, and assembly.
• Check completed pipe sections for proper fit-up, alignment, dimensions, and workmanship.
• Conduct inspection and testing of installed piping systems as directed by supervisors or technical personnel.
• Identify and correct misalignment, improper fitting, leaks, and other piping installation issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, pipe-cutting equipment, and other fabrication tools safely.
• Coordinate with welders, mechanical fitters, supervisors, engineers, and other construction or maintenance personnel.
• Follow technical drawings, work instructions, safety procedures, and project specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout fabrication and installation activities.
• Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
• Perform other pipe fitting, fabrication, installation, and maintenance duties as assigned.
