PARAMEDIC NURSE

Qualifications:

  • Male applicants only.
  • 35 years old and below.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Paramedics/Paramedicine, or a combined Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Paramedicine.
  • Must be a Registered Nurse or licensed Paramedic.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Nurse or Paramedic in an ambulance, emergency, or A&E setting.
  • Must have a Certificate in Paramedics.
  • Experience in pre-hospital emergency care, ambulance operations, trauma response, and patient stabilization.
  • Typically requires ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support), and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of emergency assessment, advanced life support, airway management, IV therapy, defibrillation, medication administration, and patient monitoring.
  • Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions during emergency and high-pressure situations.
  • Good communication, teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete emergency medical documentation and patient care reports.
  • Willingness to work with the Ministry of Interior, Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients at emergency scenes and determine the nature and severity of injuries or medical conditions.
  • Provide immediate emergency medical care and Advanced Life Support (ALS) as required.
  • Stabilize patients before and during transport to an appropriate medical facility.
  • Perform emergency procedures independently or in coordination with physicians and other medical professionals.
  • Perform airway management procedures, including advanced airway support and intubation when authorized and required.
  • Perform defibrillation and other emergency resuscitation procedures according to established protocols.
  • Establish and maintain intravenous (IV) access and administer prescribed emergency medications.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygenation, and overall condition throughout treatment and transportation.
  • Provide continuous patient care while transporting patients by ambulance and, when applicable, by helicopter or aircraft.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to medical emergencies, accidents, trauma cases, and other critical situations.
  • Communicate patient condition, treatment provided, medications administered, and other relevant information to receiving hospital staff.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, procedures, medications, and transport information.
  • Prepare detailed medical and emergency reports in accordance with applicable procedures.
  • Check, clean, maintain, and restock ambulance medical equipment and emergency supplies after each deployment.
  • Ensure that essential equipment, including heart monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, oxygen systems, and resuscitation kits, is ready for use.
  • Identify damaged, defective, expired, or missing medical equipment and report issues promptly.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, medical waste disposal, and emergency response procedures.
  • Maintain professional communication and coordination with physicians, nurses, ambulance personnel, hospital staff, and other emergency responders.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior ambulance crew members when assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient information at all times.
  • Perform other emergency medical and ambulance-related duties assigned by the Ministry of Interior.
