MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Must possess a valid PRC License as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
• Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Willing to work in Papua New Guinea under the employer’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other biological specimens.
• Prepare, process, and analyze specimens using laboratory instruments and established testing procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Verify and validate laboratory test results before releasing reports to physicians and healthcare providers.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance and quality control standards.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, patient data, and testing documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
• Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and laboratory safety protocols at all times.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring proper storage and reporting inventory needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives and accreditation requirements.
• Report abnormal or critical laboratory findings promptly according to established procedures.
• Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
