MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical laboratory experience.
- Must possess a valid PRC License as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, quality assurance, and laboratory safety standards.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining laboratory instruments and diagnostic equipment.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Willing to work in Papua New Guinea under the employer’s policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests on blood, urine, tissue, and other biological specimens.
- Prepare, process, and analyze specimens using laboratory instruments and established testing procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Verify and validate laboratory test results before releasing reports to physicians and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, patient data, and testing documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
- Follow infection prevention, biosafety, and laboratory safety protocols at all times.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and reagents, ensuring proper storage and reporting inventory needs.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Participate in laboratory quality improvement initiatives and accreditation requirements.
- Report abnormal or critical laboratory findings promptly according to established procedures.
- Keep the laboratory clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
