Talentscoutry TM GMBH is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician with specialized experience in heavy machinery assembly and precision mechanical work. The successful candidate will work with large-scale mechanical components and equipment, including generator core assemblies, requiring high levels of accuracy, technical knowledge, and strict adherence to safety procedures.
The position requires strong practical knowledge of mechanical assembly, lamination and stacking of thin metal sheets, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, precision measurement, technical drawings, and heavy equipment handling.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Qualifications:
- Must have completed a state-recognized training course of at least 4 years in the Mechanical sector, such as:
- Mechanical Machinery Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mechatronics
- Other closely related mechanical fields
- Must possess an official diploma confirming completion of the required training.
- Strong practical knowledge of heavy machinery assembly processes.
- Specialized experience in lamination and stacking of thin metal sheets is highly relevant.
- Knowledge and practical experience with pneumatic systems and high-pressure hydraulic pressing techniques.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments, including:
- Micrometers
- Internal precision gauges
- Laser measurement systems
- Other precision alignment and measurement tools
- Ability to perform dimensional checks and precise alignment of components weighing several tons.
- Confident ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, circuit diagrams, and technical Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Ability to safely operate mechanical tools, production equipment, and heavy lifting equipment.
- Experience operating floor-controlled overhead cranes is required or highly advantageous, subject to applicable Austrian licensing requirements.
- An international crane operator certificate is a major advantage.
- Knowledge of electrical insulation systems, earthing connections, and sensor placement is an advantage.
- Able to work closely and effectively with electricians and other technical specialists.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, safety awareness, and mechanical problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Perform heavy machinery assembly activities, particularly the lamination and stacking of thousands of thin metal sheets to form precision mechanical cores.
- Carefully align laminated stacks and ensure proper positioning according to manufacturing specifications.
- Operate and work with pneumatic systems and high-pressure hydraulic pressing equipment used to compact generator cores.
- Perform precision dimensional inspections using micrometers, internal precision gauges, laser measurement systems, and other specialized tools.
- Conduct accurate alignment and measurement of large mechanical components weighing several tons.
- Read and interpret complex manufacturing drawings, circuit diagrams, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Assemble, align, and inspect mechanical components according to approved specifications and production procedures.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, production equipment, and other mechanical machinery.
- Operate floor-controlled overhead cranes for the safe movement and positioning of heavy mechanical components.
- Coordinate with electricians and other technical personnel during equipment assembly and installation.
- Assist with the installation and positioning of electrical insulation systems, earthing connections, and sensors as required.
- Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure dimensional accuracy and proper alignment.
- Identify mechanical defects, dimensional deviations, or assembly issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow workplace safety regulations, equipment operating procedures, and quality standards.
- Maintain tools, measuring instruments, and work areas in clean and safe condition.
- Perform other mechanical engineering and assembly duties as assigned.
