Fortaco is hiring MAG Welders for deployment to Finland. The role involves performing high-quality MAG welding work on metal structures and industrial components, ensuring compliance with ISO welding standards, technical drawings, and strict safety and quality requirements in a manufacturing environment.

MAG Welder

Qualifications:

• Qualified according to ISO 9606, preferably with BW (Butt Weld) and FW (Fillet Weld) certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and measurements accurately.
• Knowledge of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and MAG welding process 135 using 1.0 mm solid wire.
• Experience in using Fronius TransSteel / TPSi welding equipment.
• Skilled in tack welding, fitting, measuring, and marking metal components (advantage).
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant welding experience in industrial, shipyard, or fabrication environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented production setting.
• Physically fit and capable of working in cold or demanding workshop conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality and precision.
• Knowledge of workplace safety standards and welding best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MAG welding on steel components according to WPS and engineering drawings.
• Ensure weld quality meets ISO and project specifications through proper execution and inspection.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, fitting, and aligning before welding.
• Operate and adjust welding machines based on material type and welding requirements.
• Perform tack welding and assembly of structural or fabricated components.
• Inspect completed welds and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
• Collaborate with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors to meet production targets.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working condition.
• Follow strict health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
• Report defects, issues, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Complete required documentation and production reports accurately.
