MACHINIST (Lathe Operations)
Qualifications:
- At least High School graduate.
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in the same field, with a Certificate of Employment (COE) not later than 2021.
- Physically and mentally ready to work abroad.
- Medically fit to work.
- Willing to undergo 3โ4 months of free Japanese language training.
- Willing to work under a 3-year TITP contract in Japan.
- Basic knowledge of lathe machine operation and metal machining processes.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, production procedures, and safety requirements.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when performing machining and measurement tasks.
- Hardworking, disciplined, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Able to work effectively as part of a production team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate conventional or production lathe machines to manufacture and finish metal components.
- Read and interpret basic technical drawings, measurements, and machining specifications.
- Set up lathe machines, workpieces, cutting tools, and fixtures before machining operations.
- Secure and properly position materials in the machine chuck or appropriate holding device.
- Select and install suitable cutting tools based on the required machining operation.
- Perform turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, grooving, chamfering, and other lathe operations as required.
- Adjust machine settings such as spindle speed, feed rate, and cutting depth according to material and job specifications.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure smooth and accurate production.
- Measure finished and in-process components using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.
- Inspect machined parts for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and other quality requirements.
- Make necessary machine or tool adjustments to maintain required tolerances and product quality.
- Replace worn or damaged cutting tools when necessary.
- Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance of lathe machines and equipment.
- Identify machine abnormalities, tool problems, or production issues and report them to the supervisor.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and keep the machining area clean and organized.
- Handle metal materials, tools, and finished components safely and properly.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Minimize material waste and ensure efficient use of machining tools and materials.
- Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality control procedures.
- Cooperate with supervisors and other production workers to maintain efficient operations.
- Perform other machining and production-related duties assigned by management.
