All Trades Contract Services Ltd. is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Machinist (CNC Press Brake) to operate and set up CNC press brake machines in New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for machine operation, tooling setup, precision bending, interpreting engineering drawings, monitoring tolerances, recording production jobs, and maintaining efficient and organized production processes. Experience working with galvanized steel and aluminum is required.

MACHINIST (CNC PRESS BRAKE)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience is required.
• At least a high school graduate.
• Proven ability to operate CNC Press Brake machines.
• Experience in CNC press brake machine setup, tooling, and correcting bend/set tolerances.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience operating and setting Durma ADS100 and/or LVD PPEB Press Brakes is an advantage.
• Experience processing galvanized steel (Galv) and aluminum with material thicknesses ranging from 1 mm to 4 mm.
• Strong understanding of machine tooling, bending operations, measurements, and dimensional tolerances.
• Sharp attention to detail with a strong commitment to precision and quality.
• Understanding of LEAN manufacturing principles and 5S workplace standards.
• Able to use measuring and inspection tools to verify finished components.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to make appropriate machine or tooling adjustments.
• Good English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, organized, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC press brake machines safely and efficiently according to production requirements.
• Operate Durma ADS100 press brake equipment and LVD PPEB Press Brakes as required.
• Set up CNC press brake machines, including tooling, dies, punches, and machine parameters.
• Select and install appropriate tooling based on material type, thickness, bend requirements, and production specifications.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical drawings, specifications, and production instructions.
• Program or adjust machine settings to achieve required bend angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Perform test bends and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate production results.
• Monitor finished components and correct machine settings when measurements or tolerances are outside specifications.
• Process galvanized steel and aluminum materials ranging from 1 mm to 4 mm in thickness.
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of completed work using appropriate measuring tools.
• Maintain accurate production records and log jobs into the ERP system to support smooth production flow.
• Follow production schedules and ensure assigned jobs are completed accurately and on time.
• Identify tooling, machine, material, or production issues and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Perform routine machine checks and maintain equipment in safe and working condition.
• Maintain 5S standards by keeping the work area clean, organized, safe, and efficient.
• Identify opportunities to improve work processes, reduce waste, and increase production efficiency.
• Apply LEAN manufacturing principles to daily production activities and process improvement.
• Handle sheet metal materials carefully to prevent damage, scratches, distortion, or incorrect bending.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, production personnel, and other team members to maintain efficient workflow.
• Perform other machining, press brake, and production-related duties as assigned.
