Chef

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years work experience
• Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar kitchen position.
• Culinary training or a relevant certification is an advantage
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure the quality, taste, freshness, and presentation of all food served.
• Prepare ingredients, sauces, marinades, and other food items required for daily operations.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, and sanitation procedures
• Monitor food stock and ensure ingredients are properly stored and handled.
• Check the quality and freshness of meat, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking equipment.
• Control food portions and minimize food waste.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of orders
• Assist in menu planning and development when required
• Ensure all dishes are prepared according to customer requirements and company standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
• Monitor cooking temperatures and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff when necessary
• Report shortages, equipment problems, and other kitchen concerns to the supervisor.
• Perform other duties related to kitchen operations as assigned.
