MIG/MAG WELDER (GMAW)

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant work experience as a MIG/MAG Welder or similar welding position.
• Must have an NC II Certificate.
• Must provide a valid Certificate of Employment (COE) documenting relevant welding experience.
• Must provide a Diploma.
• Applicants must provide a welding video from START TO FINISH demonstrating their actual welding skills and work process.
• Proven hands-on experience in MIG/MAG welding (GMAW).
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of proper welding machine setup, welding parameters, consumables, and shielding gas.
• Good understanding of metal preparation, joint alignment, welding techniques, and weld quality requirements.
• Able to inspect completed welds and identify common welding defects.
• Good attention to detail, accuracy, and workmanship.
• Physically fit and capable of performing welding and fabrication work for extended periods.
• Able to safely work with welding equipment, metal materials, tools, and production machinery.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and able to work effectively as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform MIG/MAG welding (GMAW) on metal components, assemblies, and structures.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, specifications, and work instructions.
• Set up and operate MIG/MAG welding machines and related equipment according to required welding procedures.
• Select appropriate welding wire, shielding gas, settings, and welding techniques based on the material and job requirements.
• Prepare metal surfaces, joints, and components before welding.
• Measure, align, position, and secure workpieces correctly before starting welding operations.
• Perform tack welding and complete welding passes according to approved procedures and specifications.
• Maintain proper welding parameters, travel speed, heat input, and technique to achieve quality welds.
• Inspect welds visually for cracks, porosity, undercut, incomplete fusion, distortion, and other defects.
• Perform grinding, cleaning, finishing, and minor corrections to welded components when required.
• Ensure completed welds meet required dimensional, structural, and quality standards.
• Identify welding defects and make appropriate corrections or repairs.
• Maintain welding machines, tools, cables, torches, regulators, and other equipment in good working condition.
• Perform basic equipment checks and report technical problems or damaged equipment to the supervisor.
• Handle welding materials and metal components safely and efficiently.
• Follow established welding procedures, quality-control requirements, and production schedules.
• Maintain a clean and organized welding workstation.
• Strictly follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, supervisors, and other production workers to ensure smooth workflow.
• Minimize material waste and ensure proper handling and storage of welding consumables.
• Perform other welding, fabrication, and production-related duties assigned by management.
