Qatar Plastic & Wooden Products Co. W.L.L. is seeking experienced and skilled Machine Operators for printing and extrusion operations in flexible packaging manufacturing in Qatar. The successful candidates will operate and monitor production machinery used in the manufacture of polyethylene-based flexible packaging, maintain consistent product quality, perform routine machine checks, and follow established production and safety procedures.
Machine Operator (Printing / Extrusion)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing flexible packaging using polyethylene resins.
- Practical experience operating printing and/or extrusion machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Good knowledge of flexible packaging production processes and polyethylene-based materials.
- Ability to monitor and adjust machine operating parameters to maintain product quality.
- Knowledge of basic machine troubleshooting, inspection, cleaning, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify production and quality defects.
- Ability to follow production specifications, operating procedures, and safety instructions accurately.
- Physically fit and capable of working in a manufacturing and production environment.
- Willingness to work shifts and extended hours when required by production schedules.
- Responsible, hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Applicant must have a passport with at least 1 year of validity.
- Willing to work in Qatar and comply with company workplace policies and safety requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor printing and extrusion machines used in flexible packaging production.
- Manufacture flexible packaging products using polyethylene (PE) resins according to production specifications.
- Set up machines, production parameters, materials, and operating controls before starting production.
- Load and prepare polyethylene resins and other approved raw materials for production.
- Monitor machine operation, production speed, temperature, pressure, tension, and other operating parameters.
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain consistent production quality and output.
- Monitor printing quality, color consistency, registration, clarity, and overall appearance of printed packaging.
- Monitor extrusion processes to ensure proper film thickness, dimensions, strength, and product consistency.
- Inspect finished and semi-finished products for defects, irregularities, contamination, printing errors, or dimensional variations.
- Perform routine machine checks and identify unusual sounds, vibrations, temperature changes, or other operating problems.
- Troubleshoot basic machine and production issues and make appropriate adjustments within the operator’s authorized scope.
- Report major machine breakdowns, production problems, defective products, and safety concerns to the supervisor or maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate production records, machine settings, material usage, output, and quality information as required.
- Follow production schedules and ensure assigned manufacturing targets are completed efficiently.
- Minimize raw material waste through proper machine operation, setup, adjustment, and handling.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe machine and production areas.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of printing and extrusion equipment as instructed.
- Follow proper procedures for handling polyethylene resins, inks, solvents, and other production materials.
- Comply with workplace health and safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Coordinate with quality control, maintenance, production supervisors, and other machine operators to maintain smooth production.
- Follow company procedures, production specifications, quality standards, and work instructions.
- Perform other machine operation and flexible packaging production duties assigned by management.
