MACHINE OPERATOR

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating stone fabrication machinery in a manufacturing or stone processing environment.
• Candidates must be at least a high school graduate.
• Proven experience operating and programming one or more of the following:
  • Litox Saw
  • Egil Saw
  • Commandulli Inline Edge Polisher
  • Master 38.0 CNC Machine
  • Vee Grooving Machine
  • Primus Waterjet
• Experience working with granite, marble, engineered stone, and ultra-compact surfaces.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering plans, CAD drawings, and DXF files.
• Experience in CAD modification and DXF file preparation for CNC machine programming.
• Strong knowledge of CNC programming, tooling setup, machine calibration, and precision machining.
• Experience in material optimization, slab selection, and yield management to minimize material wastage.
• Strong understanding of quality assurance procedures, including grain matching, color matching, and defect identification.
• Ability to perform routine machine maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience using Moraware or similar production scheduling and manufacturing software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting production schedules and quality standards.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a stone fabrication and manufacturing environment.
• Willing to work in New Zealand and comply with company policies, workplace health and safety regulations, and manufacturing standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and program stone fabrication machinery, including Litox Saw, Egil Saw, Commandulli Inline Edge Polisher, Master 38.0 CNC Machine, Vee Groover, and Primus Waterjet.
• Inspect raw slabs and materials before cutting to identify defects, blemishes, or imperfections that may affect finished products.
• Ensure accurate grain matching, color matching, batching, and toning of granite, marble, engineered stone, and ultra-compact materials.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, CAD drawings, DXF files, and production specifications.
• Modify CAD and DXF files as required for CNC programming and production.
• Set up tooling, calibrate machinery, and adjust machine parameters to achieve precise cutting and finishing results.
• Perform quality inspections on completed products in accordance with the company’s Quality Assurance (QA) checklist.
• Conduct quality checks on other production processes when requested by supervisors.
• Utilize Moraware or similar production management software to schedule jobs and monitor production workflows.
• Optimize material usage, slab selection, and cutting layouts to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, servicing, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machinery.
• Train and support backup machine operators as directed by management.
• Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and quality control records.
• Follow all company health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures to ensure a safe workplace.
• Perform other related duties assigned by management.
