LEAD ROTATING EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
  • Must have maintenance experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizer, or Power Plant facilities.
  • Bachelor’s / College Degree in Engineering (Mechanical) or a similar field.
  • Male applicants are preferred for this role.
  • Strong practical experience in the maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes.
  • Extensive knowledge of different types of pumps, including single-stage and multi-stage centrifugal pumps and reciprocating pumps.
  • Good knowledge of pump components, mechanical seals, bearings, couplings, shafts, and related rotating equipment parts.
  • Hands-on experience in rim and face alignment and laser alignment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, mechanical maintenance, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to lead and provide technical guidance to junior technicians.
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices and equipment safety.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on maintenance work in industrial environments.
  • Reliable, safety-conscious, disciplined, and committed to quality workmanship.
  • Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary maintenance and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee maintenance activities for rotating equipment in industrial facilities.
  • Perform maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of heavy industrial machinery with moving parts.
  • Work with rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes.
  • Perform maintenance activities on different types of pumps, including single-stage and multi-stage centrifugal pumps and reciprocating pumps.
  • Identify, inspect, and assess different pump components and parts for wear, damage, or abnormal operating conditions.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair or corrective maintenance requirements.
  • Perform dismantling, inspection, repair, replacement, reassembly, and testing of rotating equipment.
  • Conduct precision shaft and equipment alignment using appropriate alignment methods and instruments.
  • Perform rim and face alignment and laser alignment of rotating equipment.
  • Check equipment alignment, coupling condition, shaft condition, bearings, seals, and other critical components.
  • Monitor equipment condition and identify signs of vibration, overheating, leakage, abnormal noise, or other operational problems.
  • Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of rotating machinery when required.
  • Interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, maintenance procedures, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to approved procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to junior technicians and maintenance personnel.
  • Inspect completed maintenance work and ensure equipment is properly reassembled and ready for operation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, operations personnel, and other maintenance teams during shutdowns and repair activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, alignment activities, equipment condition, and maintenance work performed.
  • Follow permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout procedures, PPE requirements, and other industrial safety practices.
  • Maintain tools, alignment equipment, lifting equipment, and work areas in safe and serviceable condition.
  • Perform other rotating equipment maintenance duties assigned by management.
