KITCHEN HELPER

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as a Kitchen Helper, Food Service Assistant, or in a similar role.
• Candidates must possess a Vocational Diploma / Short Course Certificate in Food and Beverage Preparation/Service Management, Hospitality/Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Male applicants are preferred for this role.
• Solid experience in basic coffee preparation and beverage service.
• Good customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Basic knowledge of operating coffee machines and beverage preparation equipment.
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene practices.
• Willing to assist with a variety of kitchen tasks beyond beverage preparation.
• Flexible, hardworking, and able to perform duties assigned by supervisors and management.
• Physically fit and capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food preparation and kitchen support activities.
• Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, measuring, and portioning food items.
• Prepare basic coffee and other hot and cold beverages according to company standards.
• Operate coffee machines and other beverage preparation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist in serving food and beverages when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen workstations, utensils, equipment, and storage areas.
• Wash dishes, kitchen tools, and cooking equipment following proper sanitation procedures.
• Store food items properly and assist in monitoring inventory and stock rotation using FIFO principles.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and workplace safety regulations at all times.
• Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Support kitchen operations during busy service periods by performing assigned tasks efficiently.
• Follow instructions from the Chef, Kitchen Supervisor, and management.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.
