KITCHEN HELPER

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Helper, Kitchen Assistant, Food Service Worker, or similar position is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Ability to assist with cutting, washing, peeling, portioning, and preparing various food ingredients.
• Knowledge of proper food hygiene, sanitation, handling, and storage procedures.
• Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, lifting kitchen supplies, carrying ingredients, and performing repetitive kitchen tasks.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant and catering environment.
• Willingness to perform cleaning, dishwashing, food preparation, and other general kitchen duties.
• Good teamwork and ability to follow instructions from chefs and supervisors.
• Reliable, hardworking, disciplined, and responsible.
• Good attention to cleanliness, food safety, and workplace hygiene.
• Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required by restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, slice, portion, and prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions.
• Assist with the preparation of vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, garnishes, and other ingredients.
• Ensure ingredients are properly cleaned, prepared, stored, labeled, and organized.
• Assist chefs during busy service periods to ensure food is prepared and served efficiently.
• Keep food preparation areas, workstations, counters, sinks, and kitchen equipment clean and sanitary.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, cookware, and other kitchen equipment.
• Clean floors, storage areas, refrigerators, preparation areas, and other designated kitchen spaces.
• Dispose of food waste and garbage properly and maintain good kitchen housekeeping.
• Assist with receiving, unloading, checking, and storing food deliveries and kitchen supplies when required.
• Maintain proper storage of food ingredients according to hygiene, temperature, and food safety requirements.
• Monitor kitchen supplies and inform the chef or supervisor when ingredients or supplies are running low.
• Handle kitchen tools, equipment, cleaning chemicals, and food products safely and properly.
• Follow established food preparation, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Maintain personal cleanliness and proper hygiene while working in food preparation areas.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe working practices.
• Assist with opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with chefs, cooks, servers, dishwashers, and other restaurant staff.
• Help maintain an organized, efficient, and professional kitchen environment.
• Perform other kitchen support, cleaning, preparation, and food service duties assigned by management.
