Interior Painter
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience working on a large cruise vessel is preferred.
- Proven experience in interior painting, surface finishing, and furniture refurbishment.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, paint application techniques, and finishing materials.
- Experience using painting tools, spray equipment, and surface preparation equipment.
- Ability to maintain inventory and coordinate material requests with the Deck Storekeeper.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural maintenance team.
- Physically fit and able to lift materials, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces when required.
- Willing to work onboard Disney Cruise Line under a rotational contract.
Responsibilities:
- Perform interior painting, repainting, and touch-up work throughout guest accommodations, public areas, crew spaces, and service areas.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, filling, and priming before applying paint or finishes.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, sealants, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Carry out furniture refurbishment, including sanding, refinishing, staining, polishing, and minor cosmetic repairs.
- Inspect painted surfaces regularly and perform preventive maintenance to maintain the ship’s appearance.
- Match paint colors and finishes to ensure consistency with Disney Cruise Line standards.
- Maintain high-quality workmanship while completing projects within scheduled maintenance windows.
- Safely operate painting equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and other maintenance tools.
- Maintain inventory of paints, coatings, brushes, rollers, solvents, and other painting materials.
- Coordinate with the Deck Storekeeper to ensure timely replenishment of paint supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Follow all safety procedures regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of paints, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe during and after maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams and supervisors to complete refurbishment projects efficiently.
- Minimize disruption to guests by scheduling and performing work according to operational requirements.
- Perform other maintenance and refurbishment duties assigned by supervisors.
