INSTRUMENTATION & CONTROL ENGINEER
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of working experience is required.
- Candidates must be a Bachelor’s / College Degree holder in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or similar fields.
- Male applicants are preferred for this role.
- Strong expertise in field instruments, loop checks, calibration, and field equipment installation.
- Extensive practical experience in instrumentation and control works on construction or industrial projects.
- Ability to independently plan and execute instrumentation works from installation through testing and completion.
- Strong knowledge of field instrumentation installation, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with loop checking, instrument calibration, field equipment installation, and instrumentation connections.
- Good understanding of automated monitoring and control systems used in industrial processes and manufacturing plants.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, specifications, and technical documents.
- Knowledge of instrumentation installation methods, testing procedures, and commissioning activities.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for instrumentation and control systems.
- Ability to supervise instrumentation technicians, workers, and site activities effectively.
- Good manpower planning, task assignment, coordination, and progress-monitoring skills.
- Experience coordinating instrumentation works with electrical, mechanical, piping, civil, process, and other disciplines.
- Strong knowledge of construction-site safety and quality requirements.
- Ability to ensure compliance with approved procedures, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Experience preparing progress reports and maintaining instrumentation-related technical and testing records.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in installation, calibration, testing, and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while coordinating effectively with the project team.
- Proactive, organized, flexible, and capable of working under pressure.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and execute instrumentation and control works in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, procedures, and schedules.
- Supervise day-to-day instrumentation and control activities at the project site.
- Oversee the installation of field instruments and field equipment according to approved technical requirements.
- Supervise instrument mounting, positioning, connection, tubing, fittings, supports, and associated installation works.
- Perform and supervise loop checking activities to verify proper connections and functionality of instrumentation loops.
- Conduct and oversee instrument calibration using appropriate testing and calibration equipment.
- Verify the correct installation, identification, tagging, routing, and termination of instrumentation cables.
- Supervise installation and connection of junction boxes, instrument panels, control equipment, and related components.
- Plan and execute instrumentation works independently from preparation through installation, testing, and completion.
- Review and interpret instrumentation drawings, layouts, specifications, P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and other technical documents.
- Ensure instrumentation installations are completed accurately and in accordance with approved drawings and project requirements.
- Support the installation, testing, and maintenance of automated monitoring and control systems used in industrial processes and manufacturing plants.
- Assist in the design, development, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems as required by the project.
- Monitor the performance and functionality of instrumentation and control systems and identify technical problems.
- Troubleshoot instrumentation installation, wiring, calibration, loop-checking, and control-system issues.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, piping, civil, process, and other disciplines to ensure proper integration of instrumentation systems.
- Ensure instrumentation activities are properly coordinated with equipment installation and other construction works.
- Monitor manpower, tools, materials, and equipment required for instrumentation activities.
- Assign and supervise technicians and workers involved in instrumentation installation and testing activities.
- Monitor daily work progress and ensure assigned activities are completed according to project schedules.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and other progress reports covering instrumentation activities, manpower, completed work, and outstanding tasks.
- Coordinate with the Site Engineer, project engineers, supervisors, QA/QC personnel, and other stakeholders regarding technical and construction matters.
- Ensure instrumentation works comply with approved safety and quality standards, procedures, and project requirements.
- Participate in toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and site coordination meetings.
- Monitor proper use of PPE and ensure safe working practices during instrumentation activities.
- Identify unsafe conditions and take appropriate corrective action to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct inspections of completed instrumentation installations and identify defects or deviations.
- Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for required inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Verify that calibration and testing records are properly completed and maintained.
- Ensure test results, loop-check records, calibration certificates, and installation documentation are accurate and traceable.
- Assist in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems.
- Coordinate corrective actions for installation or testing deficiencies and verify completion of rectification work.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure instrumentation tools, materials, and equipment are safely stored.
- Provide technical guidance to instrumentation technicians and other site personnel.
- Perform other instrumentation, control engineering, supervision, and site-related duties assigned by management.
