HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.
• Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, construction machinery, and earthmoving equipment.
• Strong ability to perform complex diagnostics and troubleshooting on hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Skilled in metal fabrication and structural repairs involving equipment frames, buckets, and related components.
• Good knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, and hydraulic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, and diagnostic reports.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspection procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical system faults.
• Repair and overhaul engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, braking systems, and other equipment components.
• Conduct inspections and testing to identify equipment defects and potential failures.
• Perform welding and metal fabrication work to repair damaged frames, buckets, attachments, and structural components.
• Replace defective parts and ensure equipment is restored to safe operating condition.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
• Conduct routine servicing activities including lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs when necessary.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and industry standards.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas in clean and serviceable condition.
• Coordinate with supervisors and equipment operators regarding maintenance requirements and equipment status.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime.
