Trend Technologies is seeking a highly skilled FW Engineer / Senior Engineer to develop and maintain embedded firmware solutions for digital power systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in embedded systems, real-time control, and power electronics, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams throughout the product lifecycle.

FW Engineer / Sr. Engineer

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of firmware development experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Embedded C programming in non-OS environments.
  • Solid understanding of control theory and real-time embedded systems.
  • Experience in digital power supply firmware or power electronics is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with MCU/DSP architectures and communication protocols such as CAN, I2C, SPI, PMBus, and UART.
  • Experience using Git/SVN version control systems and unit testing practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities in a collaborative engineering environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain embedded firmware for digital power systems with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Design firmware for multi-core MCU and DSP architectures, including real-time control and task scheduling.
  • Develop switched-mode power supply firmware, including control loops and feedback compensation.
  • Perform system debugging, troubleshooting, and resolution of customer-reported technical issues.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and test engineering teams from development through product release.
  • Improve firmware performance, system stability, and development processes.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Prepare technical documentation and support product release activities.
