FIBER OPTIC SPLICER

Qualifications:

• Male applicants are preferred
• Minimum of 3 years work experience
• Technical diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent experience in telecommunication or fiber optic technology
• Proven hands on experience in fiber splicing, termination, and testing
• Proficient in using fusion splicer machines, otdr and power meters
• Strong understanding of fiber color codes, routing, and labeling standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and test results

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and follow system and shop drawings and fiber diagrams for installation and splicing activities
• Strip, clean, and prepare fiber optic cables for splicing termination
• Identify and manage correct fibers strands from multi-core cables based on color codes and labeling
• Perform fusion splicing using fusion splicer machines to achieve low-loss connections
• Install and terminate various types of fiber connectors (sc, lc, st, fc, etc.)
• Conduct otdr (optical time domain reflector ) and power meter testing to verify link integrity and performance
• Route, organize, and secure fibers within splice trays, patch panels, and enclosures
• Locate and repair fiber faults, including repair fiber faults, including re-splicing poor and replacing damaged connectors
