ELECTROPLATING WORKER (Metal Surface Treatment)

Qualifications:

• At least High School graduate.
• Physically and mentally ready to work abroad.
• Medically fit to work.
• Must meet the applicable skill standards and Japanese language proficiency requirements for the selected pathway.
• Skill Standards and Language Proficiency

A. First-Time Applicants

• Must pass the Prometric Exam in the desired skill category.
• Must have JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic with a score above 200.

B. TITP Graduates Applying for the Same Skill Category

• Must have an OTIT or JITCO Certificate.
• Must have a Grade 3 Certificate (Senmonkyuu).
• JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic is not required for TITP graduates applying to the same skill category.

C. TITP Graduates Applying for a Different Skill Category

• Must have an OTIT or JITCO Certificate.
• Must pass the Prometric Exam in the desired skill category.
• Must have JLPT N4 or JFT-Basic as required for the different skill category.
• Willingness to follow Japanese workplace rules, safety procedures, and production standards.
• Responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and willing to learn.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electroplating and metal surface treatment processes according to established procedures and specifications.
• Prepare metal components for electroplating by cleaning, degreasing, polishing, and removing dirt, oil, rust, and other contaminants.
• Operate electroplating equipment, tanks, control systems, and related production machinery.
• Prepare and handle plating solutions and treatment chemicals according to prescribed procedures.
• Monitor plating conditions, including solution levels, processing time, temperature, current, and other required parameters.
• Load and unload metal components onto racks, hooks, baskets, or other appropriate fixtures.
• Ensure proper positioning of workpieces to achieve uniform and consistent surface treatment.
• Inspect plated components for surface defects, discoloration, uneven coating, peeling, scratches, or incomplete coverage.
• Perform post-treatment processes such as rinsing, drying, polishing, and finishing as required.
• Conduct basic quality checks and report defective or non-conforming products to supervisors.
• Follow production schedules and maintain required output and quality standards.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain electroplating equipment and work tools.
• Handle chemicals and hazardous materials safely in accordance with workplace procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing metal surface treatment operations.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the work area.
• Follow Japanese workplace safety regulations, company procedures, and quality control standards.
• Record production, inspection, and process information as required.
• Report equipment abnormalities, chemical issues, safety concerns, or other operational problems to supervisors.
• Work cooperatively with other production personnel to maintain efficient operations.
• Perform other metal surface treatment and production duties assigned by management.
